Heritage breed turkey (Narragansett, Midget White) hatched and raised in Brenham, TX by Alyssa a young farmer and production manager at Whitehurst Farm. Alyssa hatched the turkey chicks from her breeding flock and fed USDA certified organic feed throughout the birds life. Heritage breeds are naturally smaller in nature and weight between 6-7 lbs.
These turkeys are extraordinarily rare and by purchasing one of these birds you are personally investing in a young artisan farmer that will continue the craft of regeneratively farming and providing you with direct access to ethically raised food.
Heritage pastured turkeys are fragile as chicks requiring 100 degree temps for the first 3 weeks of life and take over 7 months to grow to ready size. They are raised in small flocks on pasture and eat heavy amounts of vegetation taking on a unique flavor.
Whole turkey only. No giblets inside.
